Some people are the heart of a family.
They are the ones who bring everyone together, create the traditions we treasure and somehow make home feel like home. When they are gone, their absence can be felt in countless little moments.
For Teresa and her family, that person was her mum, Wendy.
Wendy was a much-loved wife, mum and nan – the glue that held their family together. After losing her far too soon, Teresa came to me wanting to create something meaningful that could help keep her mum close, not only for herself, but for her dad and her children too.
It was an honour to create a collection of memorial jewellery for the family, each piece containing Wendy’s precious cremated remains and carrying a little part of her memory forward.
Keepsakes Created for the Whole Family
One of the beautiful things about memorial jewellery is that it can allow different members of a family to remember someone in their own way.
For Teresa and her family, we created several individual pieces, including a Starlight Ring with a Murano glass keepsake stone in Lavender and another Starlight Ring featuring jewellery-grade resin in our Astrid purple colour.
We also created an Entwined Memories Ring with an oval keepsake stone, along with two beautiful Heart Keepsake Beads.
Each piece was different, but they were all connected by Wendy.
For Teresa, her dad and her children, these keepsakes became something tangible they could carry with them – remembering Wendy not only as a mum, but as a deeply loved wife and nan too.
Teresa’s Beautiful Words
Receiving messages from families after their keepsakes arrive is always incredibly special.
Teresa shared these beautiful words with me:
“Dear Nicoleta,
I received my keepsake ring, my daughter’s beads and my son’s and dad’s rings yesterday and I am in love. They are just what I wanted and are absolutely exquisite. The colours are perfect.
These are the first pieces that I’ve had made and I love each and every one. You truly are a gem. We have missed having our wife/mum/nan by our side; she was the glue that kept our family together and having these pieces made has meant so much to me and helped us to grieve with our loss and know that she will always be with us.
My family and I now have something that will be with us always to remember a loving wife/mum/nan taken far too soon. I truly love each and every piece.
Thank you for your time and care with these beautiful pieces.”
Words like these are a beautiful reminder of why I feel so privileged to do this work.
A Memory Shared Across Generations
There is something especially meaningful about creating memorial jewellery for several generations of the same family.
Each person had their own relationship with Wendy and will carry their own memories of her. Yet through these pieces, they also share something that connects them all.
A husband carries the memory of his wife.
A daughter keeps her mum close.
And grandchildren have something precious to remind them of their nan.
While nothing can replace the person we have lost, sometimes having something tangible to hold or wear can bring a little comfort on the days when their absence feels especially heavy.
